School Fees
The School Board has recommended the composite school fees and charges for 2008. The fees and charges will cover:
- Tuition fee
- Year Book
- Subject consumables
- School Diary
- Sports fee
- School Lock (New Students)
- Student Insurance
- Camps/Retreats on a whole year level basis
- Student Photocopying Allowance

Additional charges are levied for subjects with a high level of consumables. These include Food & Health Technology, Food Production, International Foods, Instep, Instep Plus, Electronics and Outdoor Education and Italian.
Sports Fee
Covers all bus charges and admission fees to swimming, athletics and cross country carnivals.
Building & Technology Levy
The Building and Technology Levy has been set at $260 / family and is not included in the above fee. Families with two or more children at Prendiville will only be charged $260. The levy helps provide new buildings, establish or replace computing hardware, purchase additional capital equipment for student use and assists with payment of the substantial interest costs on our outstanding capital debt. This levy is also in accordance with the Catholic Education Office recommendations.
Parents & Friends Levy
The Parents and Friends Levy has been set at $53 per family, of which $50 will apply to debt servicing of air conditioning of classrooms and $3 for affiliation with the Parents and Friends Federation of WA.
Cathedral Levy
The Archdiocese of Perth has determined that all Catholic primary and secondary schools will be levied $20 per annum per family for each of the next two years. These funds are to be forwarded to the Archdiocese to assist with the refurbishment of St Mary's Cathedral. The Levy will appear on the fee acccount for each family.
Music
Music tuition and the hire of instruments is charged on an individual basis. Information regarding tuition is available from the Music Department. Payment for Music tuition is made direct to the tutor, not the school.
Discount for Families
Children attending Prendiville Catholic College will receive the following discount:
2 Children at Prendiville Catholic College $300 deducted from the annual account
3 Children at Prendiville Catholic College $1,400 deducted from the annual account
4 Children at Prendiville Catholic College $3,600 deducted from the annual account
Sibling Discount
This scheme is aimed at helping families who have children at Prendiville Catholic College and also children at Catholic primary schools. For each younger brother or sister of children attending Prendiville Catholic College, who attend a Catholic primary school, we will deduct $50.00 from our first account which is sent out in February.
To apply for the $50.00 sibling discount, please complete the form and return it to the College Finance Officer, Mrs Craig before the 6th February 2008.
Health Care Card Holders
In 2005 the College introduced discounts for holders of a means tested Health Care Card. The subsidy will continue in 2008 and will discount tuition fees to a limit of $960. (The WA Government Educational Programme Allowance of $235 has been deducted from the total tuition fees to arrive at this figure). Camps, school locks, diaries, yearbook, subject consumables, photocopying, Building levy and P&F levy will be additional to this figure.
To qualify for this subsidy parents must have a current means tested Health Care Card and complete the application form at the College Finance Office. Applications close on the 11th April 2008.
The subsidy does not apply to Abstudy students or parents that are holders of a Health Care Card under the Mobility Allowance Category.
Sibling discounts for Health Care Card Holders will be applied as follows:
2 Children at Prendiville Catholic College $100 deducted from annual account
3 Children at Prendiville Catholic College $420 deducted from annual account
4 Children at Prendiville Catholic College $800 deducted from annual account
Payment Options
Various options are available for payment of fees. These include periodic payments, BPAY, direct debit,Visa and Mastercard. Payments can be made over the telephone. Parents wishing to pay by periodic instalments are requested to nominate their payment method on the 1st Account sent home in February 2008. A payment option form is required to be completed and returned to the Finance Office by 21st February 2008. If this form is not returned by the 21st February 2008, a $20 accounting fee will be charged to the Family Account.
Full Payment Discount
A discount will be applied to the Annual Fee for parents who pay the whole year account prior to the 22rd February 2008. The discount for 2008 for full payment will be $100 per child in your family attending Prendiville Catholic College.
Fee Remissions
The School Board understands that some families may have a genuine case of financial hardship. Parents finding themselves in this situation are requested to contact the Bursar to discuss their situation.
Refund Policy
For students withdrawing from the school a refund or credit to the Family account will be applied. Refunds are based on the number of weeks tuition but as a guide the following will apply:
- the first term up to 75% refund on fees billed
- the second term up to 50% refund on fees billed
- the third term up to 25% refund on fees billed
- there are no refunds for students leaving in Term 4
- Please note that for all year levels, the tuition fee is an annual fee for the academic year
Even though formal classes in some Year 12 courses may limited in Term 4, there are many aspects of Year 12 enrolment that continue well into final term. Therefore there is no reduction in fees for Term 4.

Ministry of Education Educational Programme Allowance & Clothing Allowance
Standard:
Years 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 : $235
Clothing Allowance (all years): $115
* Year 12 (conditions apply)
(Not eligible if born in 1988 ie turning 18 years)
Parents or legal guardians must hold one of the following cards from Social Security:
- Centrelink Family Health Care Card
- Centrelink Pensioner Consession Card
- Veterans' Affairs Pensioner Consession Card
PLEASE NOTE: The only Veterans' Affairs Card that meets the criteria is a blue card that is issued each year and expires in December each year. This card is income means tested.
- Parent/guardian must be the holder of a card that is valid some time during first term. The only exception to this is when a student holds their own health care card and has been declared independent by Centrelink. In this instance, a letter of confirmation from Centrelink needs to accompany the application.
- The allowance is paid up to and including the year the student turns 18 years of age ie. students born in 1988 or before are ineligible this year.
Claimants who are the recipients of cards at any time between the first day of first term and 11th April 2008 are eligible and applications will cease on 11th April 2008.
Application forms can be completed at the school office from Wednesday, 30st January 2008 and will definitely cease on 11th April 2008.
