The Year 9 Mathematics program is based on the content in the Australian Mathematics Curriculum. Students will be assigned to one of four courses dependent upon their Year 8 results.
Students in the Advanced, Intermediate A and Intermediate B courses cover a selection of topics which may include Pythagoras’ Theorem, trigonometric ratios, linear and quadratic functions, index laws, surface area and volume, congruency and similarity in figures and probability and statistics. The Modified students concentrate on learning and developing basic mathematical skills that will lead to success in mathematical concepts evident in real life contexts.
