Religious Education

The Religious Education curriculum is based on the outcomes set in the Religious Education Progress Maps published by the Catholic Education Office. This learning area focuses on the knowledge and understanding of the Gospel.

It encourages and guides students through learning and research to explore what the Catholic Church teaches about the distinctive vision of how people are called to live – in relationships with others, the mysteries of life, in particular cultures, and in solidarity with all people, especially the poor and disadvantaged. Year 7 students are encouraged to explore this religious dimension of life creatively and with imagination. Students are required to work through a number of units of work which focus on the following learning outcomes:

  • Discovering God
  • Drawing on Human Experience
  • Knowing Jesus
  • Living like Jesus
  • Catholic Practices
